Friday Question: If you could spend this weekend anywhere in the world…

6 May

Happy Friday All!

Let’s celebrate with some wanderlust, shall we? If you could spend this weekend anywhere in the world, where would you go and what would you do?

With all the should you/should you not visit Mexico news lately, I am really craving a visit back to the Yucatan peninsula (I guess you can figure what side of the argument I’m on).

So, if I could spend this weekend anywhere in the world,  I would choose… Tulum, Mexico.

Tulum is absolutely beautiful

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this hippie/ex-pat little town. I unfortunately was only in Tulum for just a few hours during my vacation last year and that was spent solely at the ruins. The water was so beautiful and the people were so nice, I defintiely have to go back!

What destination are you dreaming of this Friday afternoon?

Me? Well, it’s slightly predictable but…..

LONDON! I’ve totally been bit by the Royal Wedding bug and would LOVE to be in London participating in the celebrations– how fun!

I recently came across this awesome photos on Jaunted.com of Lord Howe Island, Australia and immediately said “I want to go there!” So… if I could jet set across the word this weekend and soak up some rays, I would definitely head to Lord Howe Island! After all, the island is also know as “the last paradise” so how could you resist that!

LHI is definitely not a hop, skip and jump away. It does take a little bit of work to get there. Located approximately 600 km northeast of Sydney and southeast of Brisbane, the best thing for you to do is fly into Sydney or Brisbane and then take a two-hour flight on QantasLink to the Island. If you are so lucky as to have one, you could also sail your yacht over.

If you plan on heading over, don’t worry about the time of year as the Island has warm, mild weather year-round! There are also tons of affordable, charming family-run properties to choose from as well. Way better than staying in a big chain hotel, if you ask me.

I am one month away from my big trip and craving some real R&R. If the genie granted me one wish, I’d spend this weekend at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Rooms start around $239/nt at this rustic gem and its located just 25 minutes from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

I would totally take two nights here to power down and enjoy some of their incredible spa treatments. Check out the menu here: http://www.camelbackspa.com/files/March%2010%20Spa%20Brochure.pdf

This has been a LONG week. If the genie granted me one wish, I’d spend this weekend on the beaches of the Maldives. Secluded islands with nothing but incredible beaches and insanely clear water? Sign me up!

If the genie granted me one wish, I’d spend this weekend in Tuscany, Italy. I’d visit various vineyards, tasting Chianti, Multipuciano,  and delicious Tuscan blends.

I’d pop over to Firenze (Florence) for a meal at my favorite restaurant in the

world: La Giostra on Borgo Pinti.

I’d pick up some gelato from Gelateria dei Neri on Via de Neri (my favorite in town), and stroll across the Ponte Vecchio to the Boboli Gardens, where I’d spend the rest of Sunday afternoon basking in the sun.

I’d finish the weekend by having wayyy too much food (and wine) at one of my other favorite restaurants, Il Latini, where the waiters bring food without menus and endless amounts of wine. One can dream…
